Meet The Band

Jen – Voice

The natural: Doing what comes naturally, & calling it ‘work’ to keep her parents happy.

A melodic encyclopaedia of show tunes, 60s harmony groups, 70s disco hits, & 80s compilation cassettes. Last seen ducking into a boutique to try on a vintage frock for the next big gig.



Lach – Guitar, Melodica

The nerd: possessor of a little too much information at times, but handy as Maradonna on trivia night.

Despite growing up in a house without a record player, music kidnapped his soul. The only skinny white guitarist never to play Sweet Child O Mine, instead paving his stairway to heaven with records on Stax, Motown, Tuff Gong & Blue Note.



Bradley – Upright Bass

The doctor: if he can’t put a groove in a song, that song is dead my friends.

A South Coast boy who dived head-first into the Sydney independent music scene, resurfacing years later in a jazz café in Amsterdam. The starting point in the pursuit of unravelling the mysteries of the double-bass.



Hayden – Drums, Percussion

The rhythm-atlas: can switch from an Amen Break to Purdie Shuffle without cracking his blue-steel gaze.

With the South Coast in his blood, Hayden found his way back home from the Big Smoke and was promptly kidnapped by The Escalators as a slave to the groove.



Dave – Trumpet, Vocals

The alchemist: weaving musical gold with his magic horn in any situation.

As a wee lad he soaked up the family record collection while his Old Man sang in show bands.  Playing in the Sydney Ska & Reggae scene back in the day, Dave soon devoted himself to jazz, practicing on CBD rooftops in his lunch break.



Dave – Tenor Sax

Equally at home busting Afrobeat grooves, or bringing some serious swing to vintage dance floor fillers, Regular Dave does it all with a tone that would warm the deepest Winter.
